This adult male King Eider has during the years become a classic element at the island of Herdla, Hordaland county. It was discovered on the 19th. of September 1986, and has wintered every year at the site. These photos are from 11 September 2005, and show the bird in eclipse plumage. The 15th. county record. A rarity in southwestern Norway.
