Long-tailed Skua surveys during the summers of 2001 and 2002 revealed 15 breeding pairs at Hardangervidda in Hordaland county. This adult bird bred successfully in 2001, but not in 2002. Both years had high numbers of lemmings Lemmus lemmus and voles Microtus sp. In 2003 there was very low densities of small rodents during summer, and no skuas bred. The picture is from late June 2002.
