Mediterranean Gull
Larus melanocephalus

First-summer bird at Revtangen in Rogaland, western Norway 30 July 2006. This bird was the fourth Mediterranean Gull in this area in less than a week. There are less than 40 records in Norway. A Black-headed Gull can be seen in the back, while a Mew Gull is besides the rarity on the upper picture. As can be seen on the lower picture, the bird is moulting both primaries, coverts and tail-feathers.

Have a look at a first-winter bird here.
