Black-tailed Godwit
Svarthalespove
Limosa limosa

A first-winter Black-tailed Godwit of the islandica subspecies in the middle of Bergen city, western Norway 9 September 2005. A rare species in Hordaland county during autumn, but this year a small influx has occured (involving about 15 individuals). There is actually only one previous record of an identified first winter islandica Black-tailed Godwit in the county. This is probably a male, based on the short bill and small size.
