Female White-backed Woodpecker with a Longhorn Beetle larvae (Cerambycidae). It is the county bird of Hordaland in western Norway. Despite some decline during the last half of the former century, it is one of the most common woodpecker species in the county. This bird was photographed near its nest 20 km. south of Bergen city in May 2007.
