There were only 28 records of Black Storks in Norway until 2004. Most have been one-day birds and pretty hard to get. This bird acquired the same history, staying only for some hours near Åsane in Rogaland county on 9 May 2004. About twenty lucky twitchers got views of this stunning bird before it soared away in the heat haze.
