This little thing is only a day or two old, and was photographed i Austrheim, coastal western Norway in July 2006. The lowland population of Ringed Plovers in Hordaland county is quite small, while they breed fairly common in the mountains.

This picture won the title "Bird photograph of the year" in Hordaland in 2005.
