Rock Pipit
Skjærpiplerke
Anthus petrosus

Rock Pipits are seen only in low numbers during winter in Hordaland county. This is one out of ten wintering birds at Herdla on February 6th. 2003. The legs are probably towards the brighter end of the species variation. Otherwise this is a classic bird of the littoralis subspecies; faintly defined supercilium, brown upperparts (including head and neck) with a tinge of olive, underparts with broad ill-defined streaks on a warmer bright buffish ground-color.
