Larus hyperboreus x argentatus
Juvenile moulting into first winter
22 February 2004
Bjørvika, Oslo, Norway

A very bright individual with extremely white primaries. Note also the back and wing coverts Despie being brighter, they are very similar to some Larus argentatus argentatus. This is a pattern like many other presumed hybrids. Only a few scapulars have been moulted to second generation.
