Larus fuscus intermedius
Third summer
April 2nd. 2002
Puddefjord, Bergen, Hordaland, Norway

Note the extent of the black in the bill. This in combination with tiny white spots on the primary-tips, and only a very small mirror on p10 may indicate that the bird is in its third spring; 4th. calandar year. Rik Winters suggests that intermedius is more advanced than graellsii after their first summer, and says this bird fits an advanced third summer.
