Larus canus
Adult winter
March 15th. 2002
Byparken, Bergen, Hordaland, Norway

This was a strange bird with a broad white border between gray and black on the inner web p8. White windows on p9 and p10 have slight dark smudging, and the bird had an unusually bright yellowish eye and small bill compared to other Common Gulls nearby (that's why it was photographed. The strech-wing shot was just lucky I guess...). In all many features of the brachyrhynchus subspecies, but probably not outside the canus variation.
