The first week of June 2005 I worked with Red-throated Pipits with and for Professor Göran Högstedt at Varanger in Finnmark county. This was my first trip to Arctic Norway, and I was stunned by the number of birds present along the coast. The inland (but still close to the sea) habitat up here was similar to in the mountains further south, but with slightly different species.
